The Red Legged Hermit crab is a tiny crab that lives in abandoned snail shells and may attack and eat a snail and then use the shell as its home. The Red Legged Hermit Crab is a great addition to an aquarium tank and is reef safe. They provide aeration by sifting through the sand and will eat algae including green hair algae and cyanobacteria. If there is not enough algae present they may need to be fed dried seaweed.
