The Tiger Pistol Shrimp is also known as a snapping shrimp. The Tiger Pistol Shrimp will create a snapping and clicking sound from an appendage that is located in their claw. When opening and closing this claw water will be ejected and can knock out smaller fish, shrimp and prey or be used to just warn off inhabitants encroaching on its territory. This shrimp has a symbiotic relationship with Amblyeleotris or Stonogobiops goby species. They will create a burrow and live in it with a mate where they will work together, they will share food and warn each other when a predator is in the area.

The Tiger Pistol Shrimp should be fed meaty foods or bottom feeder tablets.
