The Battery Backup from EcoTech Marine is an additional power supply that works with all the models from the VorTech line: the MP10, the MP40 and the MP60. The same kind of battery can be fitted to all versions, but some will last longer than others. The battery life for the smallest pump, the MP10, is 72 hours; for the middle range model, the MP40, it is 36 hours and only 20 hours for the biggest pump, the MP60. Even so, corals and fish can start to die even after 4 to 10 hours if they are placed in a tank with no flow so the battery backup can prove very useful in the event of a power outage.
