The Chocolate Chip Starfish is not a reef safe starfish, as adults chocolate chip starfish will eat soft coral, sponges, tubeworms, clams and other starfish making them an unlikely good candidate to add to a reef aquarium. Chocolate Chip Starfish will search out left over uneaten meaty foods in the aquarium and should be supplemented meaty foods such as clams, squid, and mussels. They do have beautiful protrusions all over their body in a chocolate brown color that make it a wonderful ornamental starfish to add to a FOWLR tank only.
