These sediment prefilter cartridges are designed to fit standard in-line filter housings that measure about 10 inches. The 5 micron size gathers most sediment, reducing its presence in your tank. The pre-filter is effective in Reverse Osmosis (RO) and UV systems. These filters use the entire depth of their media in trapping larger particles of sediment outside the filter, and then concentrating on smaller sized particles rejected as the tank water moves closer to the filter core.
